Young drivers should be supervised by their parents for at least a year.

Getting a driver's licence at the age of 16 can be very exciting for the teen but not for the parents. It is very dangerous nowadays to drive a car at that young age. Driving without supervision has it's pros and cons.

On the one hand,  it can be very helpful, for example when it is dark, it is hard to drive even for the experienced drivers too. That is why they need a mentor by their side. They can learn what, and what not to do in the circumstance at that moment.

On the other hand, there are parents who do not drive so they can not supervise their child. There are parents who do not have time, they work all day even on weekends. Having time is very important, too.

To sum up, I think young drivers SHOULD be supervised by their parents for at least a year because it is helpful for them and for the parents too. Parents would not worry that much and teens would learn to drive safely in the future.

Diary entry by Dorian Gray

Dear diary,
I couldn't write the other day because I had done something bad...Or was it the right thing to do? I couldn't just let somebody know my secret.. I didn't talk about this with anyone so I'm just going to simply write it down in my diary. I killed Basil. I got rid of his body. I had to...So no one would find out what I've done and the truth about my portrait. I keep wondering whether I did the right thing or not..I feel sorry for him. He had done such a great job...I feel like this is just a bad dream. And I really want to wake up. Bad things are happening ever since Basil finished the picture. When will they stop? How far I have to go to keep my secret? I'm feeling bad already for what I've done...
I may have to confront my own portrait. Could that be the solution to all my problems?

It's a mystery...

The next four questions have been a mystery for me for a long time. I asked my classmates and these were the answers I got.
I'd love to know...what's on the other side of a black hole?
The answer I got to this question was that on the other side of a black hole is a similar world to ours, and that there are people who are total opposite of ourselves. For example, if someone is honest on our world, that person's opposite on the other side of a black hole will lie all the time. I was wondering if this is true, so I started to search for answers.
The first possibly true answer is...

An interesting article about black holes
Answers I found on Yahoo! Answer
The answer to this question I like the most is Potato salad. We'll never know the right answer to this question until we end up on the other side of it.

I've always wondered...if there are ghosts and if there are, can they harm us?
There MAY be ghosts but they can't harm us, they just want to say goodbye. "( ... ) Albert Einstein suggested a scientific basis for the reality of ghosts; if energy cannot be created or destroyed but only change form, what happens to our body's energy when we die? "
So, are there really ghosts ?

An article I found on Discovery news
I'm a little sceptical about the existence of ghosts and until I see one, I won't believe in them.

Why do you think...the stars shine at night?
The stars shine at night because they are made out of gas. :D
They shine at night because...

Does anybody know... if there's a parallel universe?
There are. And the reason for this is because there are a lot of other galaxies.
The other answer I got was that Earth isn't the only place to live and that the parallel universe is may be like ours, or totally different. The inhabitants are more intelligent than us. :D

There might be...

I was shocked when I learned that there might be a parallel universe and that there's another me in it.

Do parallel universes really exist?

My alter ego would be...

If I had to decide right now what my alter ego would be, I'd chose qualities like: braveness (more than I'm currently),boldness, contentness, endurance etc.
I'd take a year off and travel around the world so I can get to know the cultures better.
Visit dangerous places..I'd try all the extreme sports out :) Climb Mt. Everest.
I'd fly to the Moon, explore hidden places, maybe even discover Atlantis.
I'd help those who need help. One of my main goals would be constructing a time machine, so that people could travel through time. They could go back to the times when the dinosaurs were living. It could improve our knowledge about history. Another goal would be that I invent a cure for diseases that aren't curable.
I wouldn't always be this good. I'd have a bad side too, just like Dr. Jekyll. :) However, I'm not saying that I would be an evil control freak who wants to control everything around her. ;)

*S*P*R*I*N*G*

Spring...When I hear this word, the first thing that comes to my mind are those wonderful and colorful flowers in the garden. They brighten our days up after the white and boring winter. (That's the reason I don't like winter. It's cold, therefore I have to dress-up so I don't get sick..With all those clothes on me, I feel like I've gained 20 kilograms. )

Another reason why I like spring, is because my birthday is in this season. This year's spring started funny. It snowed. This is the first white spring I remember seeing in my 18 years! :) I felt like this was the birthday present from above for my birthday. It was unusual :)

And of course there are the holidays...Easter, 1st May, my name day :)

Fun facts about spring :) 16 more fun facts :)

In my opinion, every season has its beauty but if I had to choose, I'd say that spring is my favorite season of the year! :)

Success to me is...

I was searching on the internet quotes and articles about success and I found an interesting article about it. Come to think of it, I never thought about what success means to me.

It can mean a lot of things, for example it is a good feeling to get good marks, especially in those subjects that are hard. Success is also achieving one of my goals which I set for myself. If that goal is important for me, I'll do anything to achieve it. Furthermore, I consider that solving a difficult problem- whether it's a task, a homework or a personal one- is a huge success. Although, there is a possibility of failure because you can't always get what you want.
However,  "The successful man will profit from his mistakes and try again in a different way."  said Dale Carnegie.  Failure or a mistake can be helpful too. I think that making a mistake or failing can sometimes be helpful. We learn a lesson and move on.

I think Dale Carnegie was a successful person because he kept believing in himself, he pursued his dreams and the result of this was him achieving his personal goals. Almost all of his books are bestsellers and motivate people from around the world to set a goal/ goals for themselves and to achieve them.

In my opinion, if you want something badly you must never give up and keep trying until you get it! It may take a while but it's worth fighting for the result! :-)

The only way to cut crime in our country is to make punishment more severe.

Crime is one of the most important issues nowadays all around the world. I think every country has to deal with it. The most common crimes are burglary, mugging, robbing etc. In the last few years crime has been going up. One of the reasons for this is possibly the fact that the unemployment has risen since 2006.

On the one hand, making the punishments more severe literally means killing that criminal, only it is committed by the state. He or she has to spend his or her whole life in prison, and there are the death penalties. In my opinion, punishments should not be seen as an opportunity for revenge. It is believed that some of the criminals will regret what they did with time and they change for the better.

On the other hand, it is really unfair that some burglars, murderers etc. are let out of prisons after a short time comparing to other criminals who spend 20 or more years in prison. They should pay for what they have done because nobody has the right to take away someone's life. It is thought that one of the benefits of harder sentences would be to keep more dangerous criminals off the street. This would be the best way to make people feel safe.

I came to the conclusion that punishments should be made a little more severe but the courts should not exaggerate in the duration of the sentences.
